NOVEMBER SPECIAL OFFERS- with a focus on Thanksgiving – ADELSHEIM
Founded in 1971, it is a founding winery of the Willamette Valley and the very first winery in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. ADELSHEIM is a LIVE Certified Sustainable Winery.
2015 Adelsheim Vineyard Breaking Ground Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, Chehalem Mountains - Breaking ground is a reference to their being the first winery in the Chehalem Mountains “The 2015 Breaking Ground Pinot Noir is pale to medium ruby-purple in color, opening with a lovely nose of warm red cherries, currants, nutmeg and cardamom plus notes of dried leaves, Earl Grey tea and floral perfume. Light to medium-bodied, it offers pure red fruit flavors with plenty of spice, a light framing of tannin and refreshing acidity, finishing long. 4,356 cases produced.” (WA 238) Reg. price $43.99 / On Sale in November: $26.99
2018 Adelsheim Vineyard Chardonnay Willamette Valley- Dave Adelsheim was influenced by the great wines of Burgundy and his chardonnays lean in that direction, made easier with the soil and climate of Oregon. “Pale yellow. Fresh citrus and tropical fruit qualities on the nose, along with subtle mineral and floral nuances. Chewy, focused and lively on the palate, offering zesty lemon pith, pineapple and sweet butter flavors that deepen on the back half. Closes with solid, youthful grip, a touch of fennel and very good persistence.” (Vinous 9/20) Reg. price $32.99 / On Sale in November: $21.99
NOVEMBER "From the Cellar" SPECIAL OFFER- with a focus on Thanksgiving – LORING WINE CO.
2013 Loring Wine Co. Clos Pepe Vineyard Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills, USA- “Bright ruby. An explosively perfumed bouquet presents red fruit preserves, incense, minerals and wisteria. Stains the palate with intense raspberry liqueur and floral pastille flavors that are lifted and sharpened by a piquant mineral nuance. Rich but also lively and focused, showing excellent finishing thrust and cling and silky, shapely tannins. This sexy pinot is delicious now but has the depth and balance to age. (JR Vinous 12/14)
2013 Loring Wine Co. ‘Russell Family Vineyard’ Pinot Noir, Paso Robles, USA-“Vivid ruby. A perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and dark berries, potpourri and mocha. Coats the palate with intense black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a spicecake nuance emerging with air. This rich but lithe wine finishes with very good clarity, an echo of sweet dark fruit and smooth tannins.” (JR Vinous 8/15)
Both are regularly priced at: $54.99/btl. Both are on Sale in November: Call or email for price
BUY THE LORING TWO PACK FOR: Call or email for price(1 each of both vineyards!)
NOVEMBER SPECIAL OFFERS- with a focus on Thanksgiving
Pinot noir, White Burgundy & Riesling
2020 Patricia Green Cellars ‘Dollar Bills Only’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, USA - 2020 was a tough vintage in Oregon so Patty Green Cellars decided to declassify all off their single vineyards and put most of it into a single cuvee – “Dollar Bills Only’, a reference to a juke box in one of their favorite dive bars. It is a silky, ready to drink, balanced wine with dark red fruits and a great texture.
Reg. price $21.99 / On Sale in November: $17.99
One of my favorite wines from vineyards named for the women that maintained them during WW1
2018 Dom. Mongeard-Mugneret Hautes Cotes de Nuits, ‘Les Dames Huguettes’, Burgundy, France-“This is rich and woven with black cherry and smoky oak flavors, with touches of clove and vanilla accents. Expressive and long, echoing the dark cherry and spice notes. Drink now through 2024. 275 cases imported. (WS 11/20) Reg. price $49.99 / On Sale in November: $39.99
2018 Dr. Leimbrock Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese Feinherb, Mosel, Germany- “Lime zest & green apples perfume this zesty, green-fruited sip. Properly feinherb in style, there’s just a whisper of sweetness glazing the palate like lace against a backdrop of pristine, spine-tingling gooseberry and grapefruit flavor. An energizing wine that’s delicious now but should hold well through 2024.” (WE 4/21)
Reg. price $25.99 / On Sale in November: $19.99
2019 Maurice Martin Saint-Veran Maconnais, France - Maurice is the father of Richard and Stéphane Martin of Domaine de la Croix Senaillet. Here is a fresher Chardonnay for the turkey table with stone fruit and a touch of honey suckle on a dry minerally finish. Reg. price $19.99 / On Sale in November: $16.99
NEW ARRIVALS- The wines of Beaujolais are perfect for Thanksgiving
2020 Domaine de la Madone Beaujolais Villages Le Perréon, France- “The 2020 Beaujolais-Villages Le Perréon is another fine success, wafting from the glass with beautifully pure aromas of cherries, raspberries, plums and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with supple tannins & an enveloping core of juicy fruit, it’s refreshing & gourmand. This head-turning bistro red is already drinking well.” (WA 8/21) $17.99
2019 Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Les Charmes Eponym Beaujolais, France - “Glistening ruby. Powerful, mineral-accented cherry, black raspberry, violet and black cardamom scents pick up a spicy nuance as the wine opens up. Chewy and tightly wound on entry, offering juicy dark berry, bitter cherry and floral pastille flavors that deepen and slowly spread out through the back half. Shows firm tension and impressive energy on a very long, mineral-driven finish framed by polished, even tannins.” (JR Vinous 8/21) $49.99
