2017 Castello ColleMassari ‘ColleMassari’ Montecucco Riserva Tuscany, Italy - “Dark and seductive, the 2017 Rosso Riserva Montecucco lulls you in with a bouquet that blends dusty black cherries and red currants with sweet mint leaf and hints of clove. There are depths of soft, fleshy textures within, balanced by brisk acids, masses of tart blackberry fruit and balsam herbal tones. This reverberates with youthful tension, leaving a saturation of primary concentration upon the palate framed by a coating of grippy tannins. While you can sense the warmth and dry conditions of the vintage here, the 2017 over delivers, coming across as more immediate than expected, yet balanced enough to excel through short term cellaring. The Rosso Riserva is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Ciliegiolo and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon refined for sixteen months in a combination of forty-hectoliter casks and five-hundred-liter tonneaux (Vinous 12/21)

2022 Domaine Saint Andre de Figuiere Cotes de Provence ‘Signature Magali’ Rosé, France - Figuière Magali Rosé is a dedication to the second daughter of Alain Combard and this is their entry level cuvée. This cuvée is a blend of two beautiful terroirs, the schists of La Londe as well as the clay-limestone soils of the Château Barbeiranne in Pignans. Domaine de Figuière Magali Rosé is a light wine, with notes of strawberries, citrus aromas and small red fruits. The palate is supple with creamy Provençal notes and the finish is crispy and greedy. A nice rosé from Provence that will pair with any summer fish or poultry dish.
